Check out this NEW, three-hour program, Soil Health, Soil Tests & Spray Water, which will combine instruction, field examples, a panel discussion, audience questions, and a knowledge check. Attend the session and earn 3 CEU credits through Texas A&M AgriLife Extension.
The proposed coursework covers:
- Soil health: How soil structure, chemistry, and biology affect water movement, nutrient cycling, and root growth.
- Soil testing: Representative sampling and practical interpretation of pH, nutrients, and cation exchange capacity.
- Spray-water quality: How pH, hardness, alkalinity, and sediment can affect mixing and application decisions, with pesticide labels guiding those decisions.
Neil McIver, known as “The Soil Man,” will join a panel of industry experts. Neil has a master certification from Texas A&M University in agricultural, turfgrass, and horticultural management and more than 40 years of hands-on experience. His work includes developing potting soils for the nursery industry, as well as soil-health products, bio-stimulants, and specialty surfactants. He brings experience connecting soil-test results and soil function with practical management decisions.
